ola

hi all just a fast post uni work has been taking up most of my time recently so let have a look at the news letter that going on. well not too much news but the feed back is small an coming along the way i want it to be, i think most people will not appreciate the mythic devs but this is grate one small step at a time.
remember they could of just continued to not listen like SOE did with SWG and jusr compleatly distroy the game but so far so good and i am looking forward to trying out 1.4.2 so make sure you get on it and get involved

how i would improve the campaign post 1.4

(2 posts in one day nice) well the question has been put down and that is how would you improve the campaign well hers how i would do it.

door controls

i wold love to see this in as an attacker this becomes a second target rather than just hit on the doors and it makes it a bit more exiting for the defenders as well.

just a short one this time

horde mode SC

well it looks like we will probably be getting horde mode the Marjory of the player base are on board with the idea as am i so heres what i would like to see.

1. lizard men oder are the lizard men and destro have to defend there ship wile its being repaired by npc workers, i figure it wold woke in 2 stages workers go out and gather resources for stage 1, stage 2 is to defend the ship while its being repaired

2. 1 side of both that same side if that make sense to anyone, but basically allow both sides to play the same side

3. both sides can take turns at being the horde as to who can do it the fastest

4. good rewards must be apart of this if mythic can pull it off the this will be a mode worth playing, wether it be gear or crest drops

5. the the mode must all so have heros and lords in it as well. so you have to take down the tank has to hold the lord and everyone els has to take down the adds

so threes a quick list of what i want if they did it, will they do it only time will tell ?

back at last

i have been having internet issues so with that said i return just in time for the produces letter, so paging doctor gig we have an surgical operation to do.


With Night of Murder winded down and people no longer marked for death, we can look forward towards Spring and the promise it holds.
First of all though I’d like to take time to encourage people to check out the forums here. We’ve been trying to increase the communication in there and encourage open discussion, notably in the Developers Corner. A few of them were directly related to patch 1.4.1 and revolved around the Renown Cap and armor set progression. As well, we’ve started some hypothetical threads – one about a new scenario type with waves of NPC spawns; the second about the campaign and possible changes you want to see. With 1.4.1 just out the door, a feedback post about the new scenario lineup has been started so we can gather feedback to tailor the lineup further in subsequent patches. The idea is to change them up more often (every few months) so that the action will stay fresh.
(yes this is what i hoped they would do an increase in communication is never a bad thing we just have to becarfull not to abuse this as a player base and not go and QQ on there and be hostile or else they wont reply and run back in to there shells. i do like the new idea of the new SC thay are taking about we will have to see what thay do with is and how it plays out)   

With our first patch of the year (1.4.1) wrapped up, we were able to squeeze in nice things and make adjustments to the game and how players will advance through the game.  This includes tweaks to our Renown Rank caps, rearrangement of the armor sets, and adjustments to the costs and methods to buy armor and weapons.  One of the things we are continuing to take a look at are how the armor sets and innate power of the levels and Renown Ranks are interacting in the world as players rank up in every tier.
  (this was bound to show up mythic would be stupid not to address this its probably the key thing that need to be taken to task and found a better way to do this is bound to be hard so i am willing to hold on and see what happens here)  
Looking forward, we’ve been working hard on finishing up some tweaks to Grovod Caverns and we want to get that out there with its new Skaven twist in an upcoming patch as a Warfront and if it is received well, as potentially a permanent feature.  Likewise, as hinted at before in the previous letter and in my posts on the forums, we want to bring back the Ironclad from Scurvy Dogs.
  ( sweetabix i loved the iron clad i will be interested to see what they do with the caverns)  
As far as Live Events go, the working title for our newest Live Event is SigmarTide and we are pushing forward on that for this Summer.  More news on this as we get through Spring, although you might find some hints about the event in Lore.
 (new live event nice all ways good to score sum new goodies and tittles i hope they can make it interesting and not just kill X number of players)
As promised in the previous Producer Letter, I want to also hit upon some stuff we have in the works.  When we started work on the Verminous Horde, we had a number of thoughts and initiatives that were in the works.  We opted to move one or two of these from being tied into that patch and instead concentrate on them after the booster was out and make them free features.  One of these features is the addition of new options for crafting.  Conceived as ‘advanced crafting’, it will build upon that foundation, but with new and exciting options.  The idea behind it is to introduce new mechanics and flesh out the offerings available via player crafting.  As we get closer to testing and launch, we’ll give more information and start discussions in the afore-mentioned forums.
Just so you know, we have a full year of Warhammer Online planned out, from events to patches, including features and fun stuff.  Along with that plan, we are looking at a number of other hypothetical things that we’d love to work on; we’ll be getting feedback on these as we move forward through the year as well.  Plus, finally, we’ll continue to look at the topics and trends that concern you, adding tweaks, changes, of fixes as we go.
Finally, I’d like to give you a teaser on some upcoming events around the EA store.  If you haven’t bought the progression or personality pack, we have an upcoming promotion around the combination pack I think you’ll like.  Keep an eye on Facebook for details about this. Plus, these guys…
(well its good to know they have the year planned out and how they are going about it, advanced crafting sounds good the crafting douse need sum attention so :D to that, no info on any class changes :( but never mined so far its all speculation and guessing  as to whats going to happen next but we will see over the coming months so i will be keeping my eye's pealed on the forms.

ask Mythic

when you have played a lot of other MMO'S you can see the difference between developers i have been dividing my time between star trek online (sto) and warhammer online (war) and one big difference between the developers is secrets, cryptic are pretty good at this they tell you just enough to keep you guessing but at least you feel in the loop just look at there way with the ask cryptic sessions they have once a month, but when you compare it to mythic they say summating and then say nothing about it not even keeping us in the loop about development and process they have had the Q&A in the past but it would be nice to have them more often and on a regular basis.

well we have another community manager so welcome to the war.

first off i do like what he is doing with the new thread he has posted nice one, discussing new ideas and concepts with the player base is the right way to go, but let the deves bring more in to the table say they have an idea why not let them run it past the player base and see if they like it and have sum input to the idea.

things i would like to see james casey do

one thing i would like to see implemented in a new armor set between invader and warlord   it would be a nice gap filler in a good way

new place to fight i think ever one can agree on this having a new place to fight would be amassing remember when we thort there would be a new scaven area and we would get to fight under ground

fix on all dungeons pleas and can we have a sov level one as well

developers coming out to play

well recently we have had the departure of andy sad to see spumone like this go he will be missed by the war community but as we move on we are see ing mythic trying to tackle the WP/DOK at last, never having much play time with ether class i cant really comment on how these changes will affect the class, but it is good to see that the developers are responding to questions and taking on bored ideas put forward by the community so play nice kids donut want to scare them away i hopw thay will get around to the WH/WE like this soon

yaaay new producers letter out

We have plans for major features for each of our numbered patches this year. The plans include expanding existing areas and features as well as new concepts to the Warhammer Online experience. 




that pretty much sums up the letter for me and about time too as well as the this as well 


Shifting gears a bit, I’d like to tell you about our plans for Live Events. We have eight Live Events planned for this year. Some of these are returning favorites (like the recently completed Keg End) and the forthcoming Night of Murder in February. Others are new ones we have planned to fill in some of the calendar gaps. Along with the Live Events, we’ll continue to support Weekend Warfronts with plans to introduce some scenarios that haven’t made their debut in the Warfront format. We also have some very special plans for Grovod Caverns.


ok new live events all ways good gives us summating to look foword to but wha i want to know is what are the plans for grovod caverns ? time will tell time will tell but over all quite a promising news letter it remains to be seen what thay will do ?

cleansing wind

to start with i was not to bothered about this but then i realized how bad this will affect anyone specced in to dot damage, so mainly engi's and magus who relay need that dot damage to push there damage up in turms of over all damage but this will all so affect WH as well in fact all DOT abilities across the bored, but time will tell if it was a good idea or not.

all so welcome back andy we hope to be hearing news soon of what we can hope to see coming to war in the coming months  but i would like to hear a years plan of what they plan to do would be nice

tomb raider

one thing peace of advice i can give to all there out there is to get over to lotd and get in side the tombs to get the pocket items, theres sum prity nice stuff out there as well as decent weapons. one thing i can recommend is getting the plagues which makes you attacks undefendable for 7s  as well as the melee shield as well as the magic one as well the golden ankh its called they should help you lot out as you come up to RR80.

why i will not be going to rift

well everyone else was doing one so why not jump on the band wagon, first of all i am not a WAR fanboy (yes you are i know you said it) if you like a game then you will play it regardless of what other people think of it (beautiful katomari anyone).
i like to think i have a good range of MMO's i have played in the past ( everquest 1&2 star wars galaxies dark age of Camelot guild wars planet side city of heros  world of warcraft pirates of the burning sea star trek online to name a sum) but to this day star wars galaxy sticks in my head as the best MMO i have ever played un till they cocked it up big time you can read all about it here.

but lets clear one thing up WOW did a lot to help MMO'S as well as hurt them as well it got more people to play the games but it really pre WOW the fail rate for an MMO was i think about 80% i think its know at about 30-40% so it did do good. but all my time playing it was the PVP aspect that was the best part of it.

actually playing my guy agents your guy is a lot more fun than an NPC that will just follow a pattern and for my money WAR gives me that. so the first reason is its a PVE game served up korean stile, second of all every MMO gets touted as the next big thing its marketing 101 make you customer think you product is better than the one they have or your competitors, i carnt think of an MMO that has not don this.

all so never believe the hype just go ok that cool if it one think i have seen over the years is that MMOs are reusing the same ideas just a different spin (rift+invasions= war's PQ's). but the most important think i have learned is hold on dount get the game right off the bat all ways check in at about 1 to 2 months after launch and read around see what other people are saying about it.

vindication

we all know that vindication is a good tactic but it has its drawbacks with having to invest in a bid disrupt rate or just run with the SOM, i currently holds in place 4 in my tactic slots tab  along with IF, FC, and depending on how i feel RS or JE. and you can do good damage depending on you survivability defensive sov any one ?

what i want is to get other peoples reactions on vindication what do you think and what works well with it

the coming power gap

be for we start we have no idea what or how DF, WF, sets will affect RVR but i do think it will affect the rvr zone in an odd way to hurt the lower levels, i currently have a  scout shadow worrier (you can get upd off the floor) in between ani and con.

and let me tell you its bloody hard to get a kill soling in next to impossible, my advice to any lobies would be stick with a group. so how has my WH been fairing :/ well its com to the point where regardless how i play i can not take down a tank where as post 1.4 i only had trouble with black orks and any one who was spec defensively 2 handers where not an issue. the maine problem is thay can just out last me all the time its annoying as hell  :( so i only have one corse of action i have to make my self a MDPS WH tank.

the irony of all time

well karack-norn has had sum troubling news over the holiday period that crimson , hand of blood and red guard are leaving the game. :(
not too big a deal but it will be sad to see them go. but on a different more annoyed tone the reason for them going is that 1.4 has made the game crap well there are a lot of issues on 1.4 but i have to say it was them who tested 1.4 and are know leaving thay did not do a good job testing the latest patch.

i want permeant stealth and a radar too

if the WH and WE got permeant stealth it would not be op it would help both class out greatly and make us that bit more affective in combat and help us in ambushing.

improve stealth a 30s ability with 30s cool down. stealth needs no time limit but you can keep the 30s cool down. and while where at it both WH & WE openers need a buff the movement buff needs to be stronger it should stop people from moving and make them stand still same for the ani caster one as well it should really take a chunk out of them, and burn armor should burn armor giving them an armor de buff. this would help both class.

radar i so want it this would make the WH &WE the scouts they are really need to be not only that but WH & WE and gutter runners should not show up on it making it evan on both sides so both scouts have to kill each other and use the environment to hide form destro a cat and mouse game so to say.

just when we where ok this pops up

its the typical nerf BLA thread  which we see all the time but hers sum good comments on it form the forum.

Just a little bit ago, I used heart seeker on my WE and hit someone for 2750 dmg. Note how this isn't the last tick of a 5 point finisher that takes several seconds to build up and another 9 seconds to actually go off. And I'm not even in a single piece of sov yet. Clearly WEs need to hit harder...

Also looking at the mitigations you posted, it looks like you were pretty clearly debuffed and the WH was using seal of destruction.




this is what i was going to put that the WH used SOD.


it all so comes dow to was he in a group if he was he should blame the healers for not helping him out, 1v1 bal is a dam good ability to use but in a group not so good and with cleansing wind RR ability 1v1 it may be taking a hit.


Pretty sure good witch elves hit me for 8k+ damage in 2-3 gcd's all the time with witchbrew (or even without) all the time as a medium armor mdps, and thats all burst damage and not a dot that you have 9 seconds to deal with

Sounds like a l2p issue if you haven't figured that out 



yep i get this all the time a WE will pop out of no where and just take down the healer happens all the time. 


A couple things I think I should point out here:

-Yes, WE finishers do need some work, but it's not as bad as most people make out because of the way the rest of the two classes balance each other out.

-Neither BaL nor RB is a be all, end all, i win button, like many seem to think.

-BaL and Inquisitor's Fury let the WH have more sustained dps than a WE. Tactics let the WE have more burst dps than a WH.

-Anyone WH who actually uses vindication is retarded.

-When equally leveled and geared, my WE's abilities and auto-attacks hit harder than their mirrors on the WH.

-Overall, the classes are one of the closest pairs in terms of class balance when looking at destruction and order mirrors



the voice of reason i have said from day one on my blog WH and WE are the most balanced class in WAR

pre 1.4 there was about 2 may be 3 posts a day complaining about witch hunters in one shape or form partly due to the fact they had no idea about the WH and how they worked as a class. well as of 1.4 coming in everyone and his mother is now complaining about marauders, all i can say is its nice not to be complained at for a change

shadow warrior and odd mastery trees

the SW is not the only one to suffer from strange abilities in mastery trees, but what do i mean by this well,
my alt is a SW and looking at the mastery tree its odd where glass arrow sits in the tree.


am not going to get in to how bad an ability it is but as it says in the tree a path for long range bow attacks so why have an aoe ability in the tree it would be much better in the skirmisher tree if it was swapped with shadow sting it would make more sense to me.

you see this makes me think that mythic rushed the mastery trees at launch and it can show in sum trees like the WL. first off that tactic and ability should only be available to that class so the 50% crit damage increase is available for the marauder witch hunter and white lion (with out there pet) you see it should be made a core ability and a new tactic put in its place.

the tree is all about striking from behind so how about a tactic that is geared towards that end or how about one that extends PW and STH duration length.

but back to my main point what should a mastery tree do, well you have 2 lv 40 WH's RR 80 just for arguments sake they both have sovereign gear offensive with the same tali's and such. they should be the same but what makes the 2 WH different well one is judgment spec (WH a) and the other is confession spec (WH b). WHa is an ambush guy and as such his mastery tree improves his abilities and makes him a better ambusher, WHb is a 1v1 type of guy and is has abilities and improvements to aid in his task.
i can say the current mastery trees are not this way inclined WAR could relay take a look at the rogue tree from WOW all the tree if aimed at increasing your effectiveness in that particular role you will be filling it makes far more sense this way.
